Fall 2012 Trend Watch

7:52 PM

Its official, fall has finally kicked itself off, we can all get ready for pumpkin spiced lattes, scary Halloween pop-up shops, and in some areas the beautiful foliage. Of course lets not forget about fall fashion, with the new season comes a new set of trends. The following are just a few trends I have seen on the streets, and that have been heavily forecasted.

Leather

Specifically leather pants, are EVERYWHERE! I have mainly seen them in black , but here and there I will catch a cute camel or mustard pair. If you can't afford real leather pants, don't fret some faux leather looks so similar you can't even tell the difference.

 Polka-Dots

This fun flirty trend has come full force this fall as seen in many designers works such as Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Diane Von Furstenberg, and others. While at work I was in "the closet" and could not help but realize how many items had polka dots on them, and several had "micro" dots which were barely noticeable but still there. Now you don't have to go all out with this trend, a cute polka-dot blouse or even an accent scarf will do just fine. If your really creative and have a steady hand (which I do not) polka-dot nail art is very popular now.

 Red
Red, red and more red. I am ashamed to say I only own one red dress and will be going out ASAP to get some more of this bold forecasted color. I have seen a lot of red skinny jeans lately which combines the color jeans and red trends together. I love red as much as the next person but I wouldn't go to the extremes with this one or you may end up looking like a walking lobster, however if thats your look then go for it!

 Fall Florals

Now there is a difference between spring florals and fall florals; obviously fall florals are not going to be in pastels; they are also called dark grounded florals if that is any indication to the difference. These florals have been seen on the runway for multiple consecutive seasons, and this trend is not going anywhere. Like the red trend you can wear it with a cute pair or floral skinnies, and a simple top or visa versa. I have also seen a lot of dark floral shoes, which adds a very playful touch to any outfit.
